Alternative Recycling of Waste Paper and Hemp Fibre into Innovative Heat Insulation Materials with Improved Thermal Conductivity
INSTALLATION OF THE PILOT PRODUCTION LINE:
The installation of the pilot production line for the innovative thermal insulation material planned under the LIFE_PHIPP project has been completed and the tests for the development of the thermal insulation material have been launched.
DISCUSSION “TEMPERATURE OF THE GREEN ESSENCE IN LATVIA”:
During Vidzeme Innovation Week, a discussion took place on the extent to which waste can be used as a resource in business. Edžus Cābulis, Chairman of the Board of SIA Balticfloc, took part in the discussion and shared his company's experience in using waste paper in production.
TV SHOW “DE LISBOA A ESTOCOLMO”:
Some time ago, the Balticfloc production facility was visited by the creators of De Lisboa a Estocolmo, a Portuguese show, to see in person the LIFE project LIFE_PHIPP started by Balticfloc.
A huge amount of waste paper arising from household waste is buried at landfills or burned, despite the fact that waste paper is recycled relatively well.
Within the framework of LIFE_PHIPP project, low class waste paper will be recycled, producing a heat insulation material in combination with the high-value hemp fibre.
SIA BALTICFLOC production team is running tests with low grade paper waste during LIFE_PHIPP project implementation.
