LAUNCHING EVENT OF PILOT PRODUCTION LINE

 

 

On 24 November 2022, the launch event of the pilot production line “BFtechnology”, installed within the framework of LIFE project LIFE_PHIPP, and presentation of new thermal insulation material took place at Balticfloc production facility in Cesis.

 

100 guests were invited to attend the launch event, but not all of them managed to arrive due to various reasons. The invited guests included both the existing and potential cooperation partners of Balticfloc. Among them were construction services and building materials sales/distribution representatives. There were also representatives of state institutions from MEPRD (Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development), SRDA (State Regional Development Agency) and Cesis Council. The event was attended also by representatives of Vidzeme waste management company “ZAAO” and other companies and organizations, with which Balticfloc has established good cooperation relations within the framework of LIFE project. The event also had foreign guests who had arrived to Latvia specifically for the opening event of the production line. The opening event also attracted representatives of the regional press and television.

The launch event of the production line “BFtechnology” lasted 4 hours. It started with one hour long receiving of guests at Balticfloc production facility. During this reception, the guests had a chance to greet and have individual conversations with representatives of LIFE_PHIPP project team, Balticfloc company managers and other guests, enjoy warm drinks and snacks, view themselves the production facility, the new production line and the produced samples of the new thermal insulation material. All guests also had an opportunity to visit and view the demo house constructed in the territory of Balticfloc production facility, which is insulated with the thermal insulation material created during LIFE project.

The solemn opening part was concluded with ribbon cutting, officially opening the pilot production line “BFtechnology”.  This task was performed by the Chairman of the Board of Balticfloc Edžus Cābulis and the Chairman of the Board of SIA “Elektro Vilks” Juris Vilciņš.

 

After the solemn opening, participants had a chance to have a walk around the production facility together with the Technology Transfer Manager of Balticfloc Ēriks Nordens, having a closer look to the production line “BFtechnology” and becoming acquainted with the production process of the new thermal insulation material.

At the end of the event, the guests received small gifts from the company Balticfloc and LIFE programme.

 

This launch event marks the closing stage of the project LIFE_PHIPP, but not the end of it. The work on the closing project activities continues to ensure that the new thermal insulation material successfully enters the market and becomes competitive with similar thermal insulation materials. Also, the work on development of licence of the production line will be continued to be able to distribute it to other European countries after the end of the project in June 2023.
