These exhibitions involved “UK Construction Week Birmingham 2022” and “LondonBuild 2022” in Great Britain, and “FinnBuild 2022” in Finland. During these exhibitions, SIA Balticfloc acquainted visitors with LIFE project LIFE_PHIPP launched by the company, during which an innovative thermal insulation material is created from low class waste paper and high-value hemp fibre.
UK CONSTRUCTION WEEK BIRMINGHAM 2022
Towards the end of the year, Balticfloc took part in several international exhibitions in Europe. These exhibitions involved “UK Construction Week Birmingham 2022” and “LondonBuild 2022” in Great Britain, and “FinnBuild 2022” in Finland. The exhibition “UK Construction Week Birmingham 2022” took place from 4 – 6 October at the exhibition hall “National Exhibition Centre” in Birmingham, Great Britain.
The exhibition was first introduced in 2015, and over the course of these few years it has rapidly gained worldwide popularity and has become one of the major events of the year in the construction industry. Moreover, currently the exhibition “UK Construction Week” has become the largest event of the construction industry in Great Britain, involving an extensive exhibition of construction industry products and services, lectures, contests, discussions, training and presentations on topical events in the industry. The event takes place in several halls and on multiple stages, industry specialists from all over the world taking the floor.
This year, the emphasis was put on the thematic stage “Net Zero”, where a topical issue of CO2 pollution in the environment caused by the construction industry and solutions for reducing it was raised. Other current topics of the construction industry involved quality of products, fire safety, energy-efficiency, latest innovations, sustainability and environment-friendly construction and mental health of employees.
The exhibition “UK Construction Week” took place in several halls, where topicalities of the construction industry were presented by 600 companies from all over the world. Over a period of three days, the exhibition was attended by approximately 25,000 visitors, 10,000 of which were representatives of the industry.
Thermal insulation materials made of cellulose fibre are not widely known in the construction industry of Great Britain. Therefore, great interest was observed during the exhibition both about the thermal insulation material “ECOwool”, created by Balticfloc and already available on the market, and about the new thermal insulation material, development of which is implemented within the framework of LIFE project LIFE_PHIPP. Many visitors were interested about whether Balticfloc has cooperation partners in Great Britain and whether the products of the company can be purchased on the market of Great Britain. Interest was shown also about the new thermal insulation material developed within the framework of LIFE project. The main interest was about the potential market price of the new product, its thermal conductivity and fire safety class.

FINNBUILD 2022
In parallel with the exhibition “UK Construction Week Birmingham 2022” in Great Britain, the construction exhibition “FinnBuild 2022” took place in Finland. It took place at the exhibition hall “Messukeskus Exhibition Centre” in Helsinki. The construction exhibition “FinnBuild” is organised since 1972 and is the largest construction industry exhibition in Finland.
This year, guests were acquainted with the latest products, innovations, services, working methods and solutions in the construction industry. 529 participants from Europe and Asia took part in the exhibition and it was attended by approximately 25,000 visitors.
In the Finnish construction industry, thermal insulation materials made of cellulose fibre are well known and highly demanded. However, despite this fact, the most interest among visitors was attracted by the new thermal insulation material of Balticfloc which is in the development stage and in production of which waste paper and hemp fibre is used. The visitors were interested about the progress of the product development and when the new thermal insulation material will be available on the market.

LONDON BUILD EXPO 2022
The last exhibition in which Balticfloc took part in the late 2022 was “London Build Expo”. It took place from 15 – 16 November at the large “Olimpya” hall in London, Great Britain.
“London Build Expo” is the globally most recognised construction industry exhibition, gathering construction industry specialists from all over the world. This year, the exhibition had 323 participants and was attended by 28,909 visitors.
This exhibition is known not only for presentation of various construction industry products and services, but also for excellent industry lecturers and specialists who took the floor on 8 stages this year. The organizers of “London Build Expo” position the exhibition as a productive platform for networking, during which new contacts and cooperations are established.
During the exhibition, visitors were interested in finding out more about the new thermal insulation material created within the framework of LIFE project. The most frequently asked questions concerned the technical properties and the potential market price of the new product.

Within the framework of LIFE project LIFE_PHIPP, the company planned to participate in 11 construction industry exhibitions. These exhibitions included both regional, and international exhibitions. The goal was achieved, so the exhibitions in Great Britain and Finland were the last attended within the framework of LIFE project.
