In 2018, according to Rural Support Service data, hemp was grown on over 900 ha. In many cases, stems remained on fields or rolled in sheds, because their quality was inappropriate for recycling. Part of hemp-stalks were transferred to pay for the seed material, mainly to Lithuanians.
~ 200 t of hemp stems were recycled in 2018 obtaining about 120 t of fibre and 60 t of shives.
In 2018, about 20 t of hemp hearts were recycled to produce oil, fats, proteins, peeled hemp seeds and meal.
